Therapy for Anxiety and Depression
Services
We offer general therapy skills for people struggling with anxiety and depression, or people wanting to feel better, or more able to accomplish their goals.
We also offer a 12+ session Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) treatment. In CBT treatment you learn evidence-based skills that will address symptoms like anxiety and depression and help you meet your goals.
What is CBT?
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is one of the most research supported types of therapy for kids through adults. CBT is skills focused, meaning you will share about your challenges and your therapist will teach you skills and tools to manage them. CBT can be applied in a structured/manualized format, or flexibly to meet your specific needs.
In short, CBT helps clients identify how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors interact to either improve or worsen their mood. By learning skills to combat anxiety and depression, clients can take control of their mood and take an active role in feeling better. CBT can have immediate effects, and has been shown to be as effective as medication in some cases, and doesn’t take 4-6 weeks to kick in!
We recommend clients plan on at least 3 months of weekly sessions, but treatment can be longer or shorter based on symptom severity and treatment response.
Who Can Benefit from CBT?
CBT is effective for treating a wide range of anxiety and depression symptoms in adolescents and adults. Common concerns we help clients address include:
Generalized anxiety and excessive worry
- Social anxiety and fear of judgment
- Panic attacks and panic disorder
- Persistent low mood and lack of motivation
- Negative thinking patterns
- Sleep difficulties related to anxiety or depression
- Difficulty managing stress
Our therapists work with you to develop personalized strategies that fit your unique situation and goals.
